Matthew 28:1-6 ESV

“Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven. And came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid. For I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.'”

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

Pastor Trenton Johnson:

“My Name is Believer”

  • February 12, 2023

Aloha and E Komo Mai, Welcome to the New Hope Legacy Church podcast! This weeks Sunday sermon is a continuation in our series called ‘My Name is Christian’, titled ‘My Name is Believer’ with Pastor Trenton Johnson. Throughout this series, we are exploring what it truly means to be a Christian and how we can grow in our faith and relationship with Jesus.

In ‘My Name is Believer”, Pastor Trenton unpacks the meaning behind being a Christian. He challenges us to consider how we can live out our faith in a way that honors God and reflects His love to those around us. It’s not just about calling ourselves Christians, but it’s about truly living as believers and followers of Christ. This requires intentional effort and a willingness to surrender ourselves to Him.

About New Hope Legacy.

At New Hope Legacy Church, we are dedicated to helping people grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus. Our mission is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that non-Christians become converts, converts become disciples, and disciples become mature, fruitful leaders who will then reach others for Christ.

To achieve this mission, we focus on four areas of spiritual growth: evangelism, edification, equipping, and extension. Evangelism is about communicating the Gospel in contemporary ways that reach the heart. Edification is about creating a community of Biblically functioning believers in healthy relationships with one another. Finally, equipping is about discovering the joy of being a fully contributing member, and extension is about responding to His commission to partner with Him in reaching others.
