Pt. 5 – February 4, 2024

Big Idea: My heart is stable and secure when I connect my life to the source.

Genesis 1:31 & 2:3 – And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Exodus 34:21 – “Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.”

Thought 1: Rest is COMMANDED and AVAILABLE.

“Great people do consistently, what others do occasionally.”

Thought 2: Life moves with RHYTHM not BALANCE

Thought 3: The rhythm of REST teaches me to rely on God’s STRENGTH.

2 Corinthians 9:10-12 – He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

Matthew 6:30-33 – But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Big Idea: The Master’s harvest must be put to work.

Thought 1: God gives me a harvest to provide for my FAMILY’s needs.
