Aloha! “Have you ever struggled in your relationships? perhaps you’ve been let down by people you thought you could rely on, or been blindsided by someone who betrayed your trust. A wise man once said, “Life moves at the speed of relationships.” Having the right relationships positioned in the right way in our lives allows us to receive right counsel, make right decisions, and live with right expectations. In our new sermon series we will be looking at the importance and role of the relationships in our lives, so that we can navigate life with strength and fulfill our calling in Christ, We’re glad to have you with us, as we dig into the Relationship Playbook!” – Pastor Trenton Johnson
Big Idea: Some people are for you but not with you.
Appreciate them, but limit their influence. Matthew 21:1-11 Mark 15:6-15 Thought 1: Fans are important…in the right place.
Matthew 21:10-11 – 10 And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” 11 And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”
Romans 16:18 – For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Thought 2: Fans can encourage my mission, or derail it.
Positioning Our Fans:
Be humble and appreciative – never demanding or entitled
Be kind – but don’t fall apart when they leave
Give the game your best – whether or not they are with you
Don’t let them get in your head
John 15:9 – As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
“Talent is God-given: be humble. Fame is man-given: be thankful. Conceit is self-given: be careful.” – Coach John Wooden

“Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven. And came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid. For I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.'”

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Aloha and E Komo Mai, Welcome to the New Hope Legacy Church podcast! This weeks Sunday sermon is a continuation in our series called ‘My Name is Christian’, titled ‘My Name is Believer’ with Pastor Trenton Johnson. Throughout this series, we are exploring what it truly means to be a Christian and how we can grow in our faith and relationship with Jesus.
In ‘My Name is Believer”, Pastor Trenton unpacks the meaning behind being a Christian. He challenges us to consider how we can live out our faith in a way that honors God and reflects His love to those around us. It’s not just about calling ourselves Christians, but it’s about truly living as believers and followers of Christ. This requires intentional effort and a willingness to surrender ourselves to Him.
About New Hope Legacy.
